Presentation
Pedro Correa was born in Spain in 1977. He currently lives in Brussels.
After living in Madrid and Barcelona he moved to Brussels where he studied oil painting and comic art at the Brussels Royal Academy of Arts. Fascinated by the works of Saul Leiter and the possibility that photography could give him, that of painting reality with light, he has put all his heart and soul in this art form for the last 5 years.
"All my art revolves around the beauty I find in cities, in elements that often go unnoticed. I try to reveal beauty by transforming the way we look at common things, without ever modifying reality. Further to that idea, I never modify the elements of a picture, merge different images or ask people to pose. There is in my opinion no need to force beauty, it is already out there."
In 2012 he had the chance to work with Magnum photographer Mark Power. He has previously been showcased in the Accessible Art Fair of Brussels, the Artemptation Gallery, the Art Hamptons Art Fair in New York with the Vogelsang Gallery, and the Andy Marhol Gallery (Brussels).
