Presentation
Malo, born in 1972, is a French artist photographer whose work explores the concept of the mask that we present in society. Through elaborate photographic series, Malo creates important settings, often in castles or sets that he constructs in the studio.
To create his works, Malo puts together a team like a small film production, comprising around twenty people: makeup artists, hairdressers, stylists, decorators, models and assistants. He oversees every aspect of production, from staging to model direction to lighting, with the goal of telling a story through his photographs.
Inspired by Montaigne's adage "Know thyself", Malo explores the duality of the human being, highlighting the gap between the image we project and our true identity.
His work has been exhibited for over a decade in Europe, both in art galleries and international art fairs, as well as in the United States. Through his images, Malo invites the viewer to reflect on our own identity and on the masks we wear on a daily basis to navigate the world around us.
