Biography
Roger Chapelain-Midy, born in 1904 in Paris and died in the same city in 1992, is a painter, lithographer, illustrator and French theater designer. He studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, then continued his artistic training in the painting academies of the Montparnasse district. Chapelain-Midy received the Carnegie Prize in 1938. The Île-de-France Prize in 1952. The Menton Biennial Prize in 1953. The City of Paris Grand Prize in 1955 and the Grand Prize for theater of the São Paulo Biennale in Brazil.
