Biography
Joyce Arimatsu is a painter originally from Great Britain. She entered the School of Arts and Crafts in 1947 and obtained a degree in lithography in 1952. In 1954, she obtained a National Diploma in Design. She completed her academic career from 1980 to 1981 at the College of Art of Ontario. In 1959, she married a Japanese diplomat who trained her during his trips around the world.
Joyce Arimatsu works with ink, paint, charcoal, watercolor... The different mediums that she uses reflect her vivacious spirit and her artistic versatility.
Nudity is her favorite subject. The female bodies are represented in all their sensuality, combining voluptuous curves and shimmering flesh.
