Marcelle Cahn
Biography
Marcelle Cahn (Strasbourg (1895-1981) is a French painter. She studies in Berlin, Germany, lives in Zurich, Switzerland, and moves to Paris where she works in Fernand Léger and Ozenfant. In 1930 she becomes a member with Mondrian, Kandinsky, Arp of the artistic group "Circle and Square" founded by Michel Seuphor and Torres Garcia. She is creating collage in a constructivist spirit with small volumes within space. She obtains a Solo Show travelling all around France from 1972 until 1974 by the Centre National d'Art Contemporain du Ministère de la Culture, National Contemporary Art Center of the Ministry of Culture in France. Marcelle Cahn works belong to the collections of Musée National d'Art Moderne in Paris, Strasbourg, Lille, Grenoble museums.
