Biography
Séverine Potreau is a French artist from Nancy who signs her works "Spot". Born in 1975 and originally from the Charente Maritime, she moved to Nancy 24 years ago where she took painting classes with teachers from the Nancy School of Fine Arts thanks to the ADEA (Association for the Development of Artistic Education).
Attracted at a young age by drawing and creations, Séverine first devoted herself to oil and acrylic painting. This passion allowed her to specialize in the communion of colors. It is in 2018 that she launches into collage: During an exhibition "art3F" in Luxembourg, she discovers the work of "Virut", a Thai artist who makes portraits of very pretty women in collage: "It is a revelation!". Séverine then collected and assembled materials, colors and shapes to create a new visual. With a precise sense of detail, because she wants to tell a story.
Her portraits have a voice! She integrates pieces of texts, quotes, photos of CD or DVD covers, record sleeves, posters, scores, etc.
