OH KYUNG HWAN, named as well CHOO Y, was born Iin 1941 in South Korea. He is painting ideological and political paintings. In 1982 he shows "Situation 82", in SUR-INDEPENDENTS Fair in Paris, where famous artists exhibited before him, Calder, Dalí, Mirabelle Dors, Max Ernst, Aline Gagnaire, Alberto Giacometti, Henri Goetz, Hans Hartung, Kandinsky, Miro, Maurice Rapin, Man Ray, Yves Tanguy. "Situation 82", 1982 oil on wood with nails and pliers denounces the war generated by communist political systems and former japanese colonialism, destroying his country, with 2 500 000 deaths. He shows his art in Paris and Seoul. Solo Shows "Situation 82", Paris, International Art Gallery, Seoul, 1988, "Kyung Hwan Oh, Cosmos & space", OCI Museum Séoul, 2013 where Seoul University Professor Chung, Young-Mok describes his art as "ideological, serious and philosophical". With "Situation 82", he belongs to the South Korean Selection of Art Olympiads organized by Lise Cormery Gallery for the French Olympic Committee in 1991 and 1992 in Paris. It was following the famous 1988 Art Olympiads in Seoul.
