Bernard Di Sciullo (1930-2017) Action Painting painter was born in Paris where his paternal family from Southern Italy found a shelter. For Di Sciullo : "I had several masters, Giovanni Bernabei, for Italian trips and language, music, Dupuy painter, Eckenroth, priest and spiritual guide, Barbault, astrologist, Creuze for philosophy and art quest."
From 1948 to 1953 he studies both in Beaux-Arts, Paris with Limouse and Dentist University and becomes a dentist. In 1950 he meets his wife Geneviève Dupuy, dentist, thanks to her he can keep painting and dentist becomes his second job. In 1956 he meets Raymond Creuze, Riopelle and Charchoune art gallery in Paris, Creuze consents to a Solo Show only in 1965 and 1967, once he renounces to his Gold Number perfection and figurative art. Abstraction was then a dictatorship. 1974-1977, Jean-Pierre Simon, art dealer without gallery, leaves France for the USA in 1977, forever, with his paintings. Creuze closes his gallery. In 1984, he divorces, leaves Paris for Cachan, has collective shows until his death. In 1988, his friends Max Morel and Anglade advise him to meet Lise Cormery where he has permanent shows from 1988 until his death.
In 1995, his Solo Show "40 years of painting" shows the excellence of his figuration, abstraction and Action Painting with his "Larcenies", from Art History with " Goya La Solana", or from Magazines with "My Bentley", "Nude with black car" or "Journey to the Edge of the Night".
In 1991 and 1992 his paintings were exhibited during the French Art Olympiads under the high patronage of President Mitterrand and Jacques Chirac, Mayor of Paris, since the artist was part of the Selection of Italy and France for Art Olympiads organized by Lise Cormery Gallery for the French Olympic Committee in 1991 and 1992 in Paris. It was following the famous 1988 Art Olympiads in Seoul with its sculpture and painting museums created for the event in order to invite and show major international artists of the century.
In 2007 he is the guest of Lise Cormery in her Paris Diderot University Symposium during a videoconferencing on the subject of " Artist life", still on YouTube. She dedicates him a book published by the University in 2009, "Free Artist, Good for nothing or National living treasures ?".
