Chen Chin was born in 1930 in Fuzhou, Fujian, southern China. When the country becomes the Republic of China he finds a shelter in Taiwan in 1948. From 1968 to 1975, he studies drawing in Li De Studio in Taipei, and then studies calligraphy. Chen Chin observes horses in Chinese Art, one of its favorite subject. Thus, he makes the following statement : "Horses are like frozen, they don't have the right speed or movement. The Calligraphy "herbeuse" allows us to depict a subject while moving, and I'll use it in order to give the proper speed and energy to my horses, so they will become alive. "For Christophe Comentale, curator of Chen Chin Solo Show in Lise Cormery Gallery, in 1986, Chen Chin made a succeful approach to give life to his horses.
"Calligraphie et Chevaux" " Calligraphy and Horses" CHEN CHIN Solo Show 1986, Galerie Lise Cormery, Paris Curator Christophe Comentale, presented works of art of several meters high.
