Biography
Christine Tresca lives in Lille and works in the North of France, the land of Flemish masters who have always inspired her.
This resulted in a taste for monochromes, chiaroscuro and still lifes.
His work is situated between abstraction and figuration, with nature as a guideline, the object, the material, the simplicity of the forms and the subdued colors.
The place of creation in which his workshop is located makes him rub shoulders with artists and discover the work of ceramics which is a source of inspiration.
A reflection on the art and aesthetic philosophy of Japan and Korea, the influence of Wabi Sabi strongly accentuated this desire to translate the mark of time on objects, materials, textiles and to deepen techniques such as gold leaf, Indian ink, walnut stain and charcoal.
Her research on still life leads her to an interpretation of shapes and colors in more abstract compositions with always this desire to translate her taste for sobriety and harmony.
