Biography
Emilio Grau Sala was born in Barcelona in the region of Catalonia and continued his studies at the School of Fine Arts in Barcelona. He came to France in 1932.
In 1936, he married the painter Ángeles Santos Torroella.
His style is a notable colorist (oils and watercolors, pastels) and illustrator, he is a member of Maurice Boitel's group at the Salon Comparaisons. Emilio Grau Sala has illustrated several books: Les Fleurs du mal by Baudelaire, Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert, Bel-Ami by Guy de Maupassant, the Claudine series by Colette; In search of lost time by Marcel Proust, Written on water by Francis de Miomandre, and produced lithographs, engravings and posters.
He died in 1975
