Presentation
Tomo77 is an interdisciplinary artist based in Costa Rica. Driven by the world of circumstance, his work often explores themes of human behavior, capitalism, and pop culture within the context of an immigrant.
Tomo's passion for expression began in graphic design 30 years ago. Out of curiosity and experimentation, he evolved into illustration, painting, collage and murals.
“My choice of medium depends on how I feel… English is my second language, and often my ideas are more easily understood through my work rather than through my words. I hope, like everyone else, that people will be interested in my work and think about the impact of their own behaviors on their environment."
His work has been featured in exhibitions at La Luz de Jesus, One Grand Gallery, Mortal Machine, as well as editorials in Hi-Fructose, Juxtapoz, Gestalten's Editorial and AI-AP New York for two consecutive years. You can often find him researching his latest ideas: people watching with a pen, a notebook, and an Americano.
