Gaël
Biography
Emerging artist based in Ile de France, Gaël loves to shake up the roles and genres of our society.
Gaël has been passionate about the visual arts since his childhood, and won many awards, including the Prix Créa (2019).
Evolving in different artistic universes, moving from pencil portraits to digital art, everything seems to attract his curiosity. Illustration, motion design, 3D, photography. But it is through painting that he expresses his questions about social conditioning.
His paintings, inspired by Pop artist Roy Lichtenstein, leave everyone wondering about their own identity. What is the genre? Who owns it? How does society condition our body language, our way of thinking, of dressing, of judging us male or female depending on the sex in which we were born? To find answers to these questions, he reinterprets the genre of Lichtenstein's works as “masculine.” His paintings are defined by bright colors, black and frank lines, his colorful characters. You must have at least one Roy Lichtenstein of the artist Gaël in his collection.
