Biography
Marie-Louise Sorbac was born in Argentina from a Frech father and an Argentinean mother. Today she lives and works in Boulogne-Billancourt, France.
She grew up with four brothers and sisters in a family of collectors and decorators. After her baccalaureate, she moved to France with the intention to join a Beaux-Arts school, but she started working in the field of luxury. This experience and her years of travels led her to express her creativity through sculpture.
"I like creating characters from just on line, one trait, I like them to be pure ans essential, as if I drew instead of sculpting them", says Marie-Louise Sorbac. She works with natural materials, vines, wood or recycled metal that she combines with wood. "I like using building materials in a new way, bringing them back to life, giving them a new dynamic."
Marie-Louise Sorbac's work is concrete, structured, present and full of energy. She has been exhibiting her sculptures since 2010 in various Parisian galleries such as the galerie Argentine, the Espace Landowski in Boulogne and the Unesco.
