Biography
Rhee studied at the Jinju Girls' High School before leaving to Japan to the Jissen Women's University (Tokyo) in 1935. In 1938, she came back home and got married.
In 1951, due to the Korean War, she was separated from her three children. She decided to go to Paris. In 1953, she entered the Academy de la Grande Chaumiere to study with professors Yves Brayer and Henri Goetz.
A prolific artist with more than 1000 paintings, 700 engravings, 250 ceramics, and many drawings, she has exhibited mainly in France and Korea (84 solo exhibitions and nearly 300 group exhibitions).
