Contemporary artist Pascal Bernier was born in 1960 in Brussels. His work is both still life and vanity, taxidermy and mortuary art. Dressed, bandaged, stuffed or skinned, the artist puts animals in a situation through photography, installations, sculpture and video. Art and death are intimately linked in the artist's approach. Both disturbing and playful, Bernier's work offers a questioning of human nature. He invites us to discover a universe where nature is revisited by man and his world. The artist shows us the industrialized society busy absorbing nature to make it its own, so that it meets production and profitability needs, at the risk of abusing it.
