Charles Hargrove, alias Kool Koor is an American artist, friend of Basquiat and Keith Haring, born in New York in 1963. He is a "pure product" of the South Bronx. Son of painters, he studied architecture and graphic design, and has always been passionate about graffiti.

He switches from graffiti on walls to painting, and had his first show at the age of 16 at Fashion Moda, the first gallery who was interested in artists from the Bronx. He soon becomes known in the East Village and Soho artistic scene. "Graffiti connection", "Graffiti writer"... artist Kool Koor is one of the most interesting representatives of "Tagging" of his generation. His mastery of aerosol painting shows both eloquence and passion for acid colors with tones of neon pink, gold, red, creating futuristic landscapes that are neither figurative nor abstract.

Through a language of letters that appear through his drawings, Kool Koor paints his interpretation of the present world, of the past and the future by depicting space travelers and his own calligraphy in multidimensional images.
