Biography

Antoinette Rozan is a self-taught artist. Coming from five generations of painters, engravers and architects, she launched into artistic creation through sculpture in the early 2000s.

Movement, Paradox and Energy are the words that best describe his work. The paradox is at the origin of the force that she breathes into her works. She sculpts in volume and yet she only sees with one eye. It expresses the idea that life is a perpetual wave of moving energy, although its spine has been sealed since childhood. She embodies, and in her works too, the joy of being, despite a life strewn with trials. In his works, the soul acts. Thanks to his work and his messages, we reconnect with the idea that everything is possible despite appearances, while life sometimes gives us the illusion that we are limited. His creations vibrate in our lives to express that the opposite is possible.

Today she creates on different supports and materials: bronze, copper wire, silicone, resin, plaster, Indian ink on paper, paint on tarpaulin, dibond.

Started in 2021, the “Élan de vie" series is a representation of the energy with which we radiate, of this dazzling, powerful and obvious life which is woven within each of us. These sculptures are the expression of the body which comes alive in a single line, of life as a subtle balance that we must find in each of us. Copper, this energy-conducting metal, was the perfect answer to symbolize this idea that everything is movement in our bodies as long as we are alive. These minimalist and flamboyant characters are the mirror of our lives, the one in which we are finally free to be ourselves.
