The artistic process in the words of Orlando Alandia
I see art as a way of reflecting on the world. The process of creation and the production of the work itself are one. The result does not depend on a certain end result or goal. Ultimately, the work turns out to be a consequence and a practice. Abstract painting is, for me, linked to poetry in its evocative power. It begins with an encounter with sensations rather than images. Color becomes a metaphor that symbolizes what is eternal, invisible, the essence of matter.
My painting is deeply linked to architecture, which occupies other spaces of my artistic practice, just like printmaking and textile art. The process undergoes all these cultural expressions and seeks to reflect on the greatest themes of life, such as: ancestrality, the Earth, the human condition, eroticism, in other words, questions that require introspection and growth.
