Biography
Béatrice Fernando is a sculptor. Having graduated with a degree in art history, she decided to devote herself to her first passion: sculpture. She feels a need to work the material, to transform it with her hands and to breathe life into it.
Béatrice Fernando works with a unique material, the composition of which only she knows. However, she has revealed that the mysterious mixture contains sandstone, ceramic and sand, among other things.
Béatrice's sculptures are long and slender. The style is raw and minimalist: the artist focuses on the essential. The lively, expressive strokes show her sharp-eyed view of human nature.
Béatrice Fernando has exhibited her work in several Parisian galleries, including on Boulevard Saint-Germain. In 2010, she received the bronze medal from the Académie des Arts, Sciences et Lettres in Paris for “Originalité de la matière". She received the gold medal at the 13th Pezenas International Salon in 2013.
