MC Blue Matter is a young Parisian artist, passionate about Hip-Hop, modern art, jazz and comic books.
He began his career as an artist working in American rap (Asher Roth, Illa J, Lord Apex..) as well as in jazz (Flofilz, Amaro Freitas, Kazumi Kaneda...) and working with brands such as 'Apple Music or sneakersnstuff.
Last summer he took his first steps as a gallery artist during a sold out exhibition in the 1st arrondissement of Paris at the Nast gallery.
In the art of MC Blue Matter, it is always the human that prevails. As a true portrait painter, he systematically places the human subject in the foreground, who is the center of attention and the object of a tender gaze, often punctuated with humour. He is inspired by painters such as Basquiat, Hockney or Chagall for their singular visions of the world.
Beyond the pictorial approach, MC Blue Matter's drawings are also the breeding ground for a singular vocabulary. Through a series of signs and symbols – planets, crowns, stars, crosses, among others.
MC Blue Matter invents its own language.
