ODY is a French painter. An inveterate globetrotter having lived on almost every continent, a jack-of-all-trades and hyperactive multi-entrepreneur, ODY one day decides that creative freedom and the emotions of the internal struggle of the artistic process are better than material success, and chooses the path of the compulsive artist.
Although the connection with the giants of Action Painting such as Janet Sobel, Jackson Pollock and Sam Francis, from whom he borrowed the technique of dripping, is obvious, ODY more readily asserts itself as Street Art.
It was indeed the discovery of Street Art that began the journey leading to painting. The artist finds himself in the minimalist and self-taught approach of this current, and in its “everyday" character.
Because ODY uses its natural mastery of colors to magnify “bulky items", giving them not only a second life, but incredible strength, managing to transmute a material destined for waste into a noble material loaded with emotions.
The circle has come full circle: through painting, ODY manages to speak to the viewer and to transmit and share the emotions of creative effervescence.
