Biography
Rafael Lozano Bartolozzi is a Spanish artist who was born in Pamplona in 1943 and died in Tarragone in 2009.
He comes from a family of artists, his father, Pedro Lozano de Sotes, was a remarkable painter from the realistic school of Navarre and his maternal grandfather was Salvador Bartolozzi.
He studied at the School of Fine Arts of Sant George and at the School of mural painting in Sant Cugat del Valles. He is part of the generation of artists of the 60s, characterized by beloging to a general tendency towards figuration with a certain pop art influence.
In 1991, he was named Mayor of Vespella de Gaia in Tarragone, where he lives since February 1972.
