De Genna
Biography
Genna 1955, is a Spanish artist based in Barcelona who works in modern painting with bright colors where figuration and abstraction come together in harmonic movement.
Education - Genna graduated in Applied Mathematics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, USSR, in 1978 specializing in "Simulation Models".
In 2019-2021 he developed a new art style "Chatoyant de Genna", which is the result of the implementation of one of the typologies of these Models, specifically the "Event Orientation Simulation Model", thus defining a set of elements which artistically represents a rainbow as a real-world event and phenomenon.
Creation of the world of light and harmony - this is the central idea of his work and the style "Chatoyant de Genna" allows in his abstract geometric paintings with bright elements to figuratively and artistically visualize the phenomenon of the rainbow and recharges us with the feelings of joy, protection and hope that nature transmits to us through the appearance of this phenomenon.
"The rainbow has always been a phenomenon that has fascinated ordinary people as well as scientists and mathematicians. If a person with technical background in these disciplines takes the opportunity to become interested in the intricacies of artistic creation, we find ourselves as a result of the participating in the work of Genna, who takes this very specific atmospheric phenomenon and deconstructs it into geometric shapes with primary colors with the intention of questioning how far the concept of the rainbow can go and still be recognizable."
