Sophie Gardin, born in Nice in 1969, is a contemporary French artist whose artistic career is marked by great sensitivity and a contemplative attitude.

Biography

Trained in many workshops where she learned framing, painting, drawing from life and live models, the artist has been able to combine her traditional know-how with an innovative approach and a unique style. After making copies of masters and launching into the creation of human and equine portraits in 2016, she gradually oriented her work towards a freer figuration.

Her art, known for its spontaneity and vibrant color palette, is characterized by loose drawing and a sensory exploration of materials. Sophie Gardin likes to work intuitively, sometimes applying the material directly with her finger, thus creating works where the lines are fluid and the compositions, often floral or inspired by still life, are arranged according to the inspiration of the moment.

His creations, inspired by his travels, his personal memories, and his observations of the world, bear witness to his deep attachment to the South of France. Lemons, fish and roses from Antibes are recurring elements in his work, symbolizing anchors loaded with memories.

Committed to ecology and passionate about the beauty of nature, Sophie seeks to raise public awareness through her work, while transmitting positive emotions: joy of living, well-being, peace and harmony. Her work, in perpetual evolution, makes her a dynamic figure of the contemporary art scene, inviting everyone to reflect on their own relationship to the world and the beauty that surrounds them.
