Pia Myrvold
Biography
Norwegian artist, Pia Myrvold is also known as a designer. Trained as a painter, she quickly turned to new technologies.
From its beginnings, it has developed projects that interweave new technologies with older ones:
"My 30-year work history as an interdisciplinary artist, practicing and fusing painting, wearable art, textiles, sculpture, architecture, urbanism and public participation, with the emergence of the Internet in the early 90s; the creation of interface design and sensory art, is, in large part based on modernist principles, from their founders, the surrealists, the futurists, the cubists, Bauhaus, the Dadaists, up to Cobra, American Expressionism, Fluxus, the most recent Situationists and Deconstructionists."
Since 1983, we have been able to see personal exhibitions all over the world: Perceptions, Norway 1983; Slow Emotion, Oslo 1990; Urban Upwind, ephemeral architecture, Parc de la Villette, Paris 1992; The Bridge, New York 2002; FLOW - a work in Motion, at Venice 2011; WORKS IN MOTION in Los Angeles. The latest, Pia MYrvoLD-Art Avatar, in 2014 at the Pompidou Center in Paris allowed her to receive the congratulations of the Minister of Culture, Fleur Pellerin.
She has also participated in group exhibitions: We love video in the Summer, in Beijing 2014 - The Metamorphoses of the Virtual in Shanghai and at the Venice Biennale in 2013 - Show Off in Paris 2013 - Spring exhibition, at the Museum of Charlottenborg Art in Copenhagen 2008 - The Fashion of Architecture in New York 2006.
She has lived and worked in Paris and New York since 1992.
