Andrée Vilar (1916 - 2009)
Painter, engraver, ceramist and poet.
His inks and gouaches are representative of the environment that was his for a large part of his life, Sète and the Mediterranean.
Mythology was also a source of inspiration that we find in the 1970s in tapestries and in his penciled gouaches.
She met the painters who were numerous to work with her husband, Jean Vilar, man of the theater, such as Léon Gischia, Singier, Manessier, Pignon, Prassinos, Calder and many others.
François Desnoyer and his wife Souza were friends from Sète.
At the very beginning of her Parisian life, she worked with her younger sister, Valentine Schegel, ceramicist and sculptor. The decorative motifs were his participation in their joint productions.
They shared the same workshop in Paris for a long time.
