Gordon Crewdea
Biography
Gordon Crewdea is an artist born in 1990 in Dublin. During his adolescence, he developed a taste for painting as well as for reading philosophy, leading him to pursue a university degree in both disciplines. In 2016, he obtained a double degree: a master's degree in Philosophy at the University of Dublin and a master's degree in Art at NCAD. This double baggage allows him to carry out a study on the theme of the ghost through two different but complementary disciplines.
He was awarded the painting prize at the Work Head exhibition in 2016, which brought together six graduate students, and subsequently exhibited in several places in Europe, notably in France where he settled to work.
Since few years, Gordon Crewdea’s work establishes many questionment taking place between the nature of the paint itself, the existence of a substential or a negligible figure and the act of disappearance in a field based on the image. The problematic had lead our reflection to a widest question : how can the artist depaint the invisible way of consciousness.
