Born in Casablanca in 1986, Sanaa Abouayoub is a visual artist.
After studying economics and management at the University of Paris-Dauphine, she worked for several years in multinational companies before turning to studies in art therapy. Back in Morocco, she went through a period of physical pain that prompted her to introspect and produce her first works.
Since 2015, she has been committed to exploring her artistic universe. In 2018, she took part in her first residency and group exhibition in Paris.
Group exhibition in Paris. This first residency marks a turning point in the affirmation of her style.
She also participates in numerous theater and dance workshops, gaining a better understanding of her relationship with the body, which she spontaneously integrates into her visual artistic research.
For her, performance has become the essential means of giving the body a place in its authentic expression.
She creates a polymorphous art that revolves around the archetypes of the sacred feminine, feminine pleasure and questions linked to spirituality, sexuality and her insatiable quest for freedom.
Her experience as an art therapist and her work with aboriginal children and women in Morocco, Kenya, Uganda and Canada enrich her socio-cultural questioning and her artistic approach.
In addition to Morocco, she has lived in France, Chile, the United States and Canada.
