Antonio Barrera (Rome, 1889 - Rome, 1970). Barrera was one of Pietro Gaudenzi's pupils and, in 1925, he exhibited his first works at the Society of Fine Arts Amateurs of Rome. Since 1917, he participated in all the exhibitions held in Rome, Venice, Milan, Naples, Barcelona, Madrid, Baltimore, Paris etc.
Some of his works can be found in the National Gallery of Modern Art in Rome, the Civic Museum of Turin, the National Museum of Malta and in important private collections. He painted portraits of the sovereigns for the Senate Presidency Council Room. In 1929, in Barcelona, he obtained the honorary medal. His current artistic trend and the modernity of his works are focused on a particular architectural and design sense, in which his acute pictorial sensitivity is controlled.
