Born in 1955 in Kutaisi and died in 2010 in Tel Aviv, Meir Pichhadze was a Georgian painter.
In his childhood, he studied sculpture besides sculptor Razu Ramishvili. He moved with his family to Israel in 1973, a country that he never left. There his work revealed the influence of Georgian painter Niko Pirosmanashvili.
In 1983, Meir Pichhadze began studying arts at the Kalisher College of Art. He exhibited his work for the first in the school's art gallery. He was then noticed for his unusual style and more specifically by his black background canvases.
