Biography
The composition is for him a real obsession in the act of painting. His work is directly linked to the desire for rigorous construction. Edgar Manuel favors the portrait. It brings together sensation and intuition, ensuring their mutual development. His research is directed towards the expression of the subject.
To do this, he organizes his feelings, combines his pictorial intentions in order to reveal the relationship between his gesture, the material, the tones and its balances. The painter needs to entrust a part of his creation to the unexpected and the random; to what he himself could not imagine before starting his canvas.
This process opens his work to another dimension that goes beyond the representation of the human. His subjects thus seem to split, float, project themselves towards a parallel universe, erasing part of their being to signify a new state of mind. Propelled in a light weightlessness, soft sometimes melancholy, his characters always preserve the singular expression of their character.
