Biography
He was a Spanish artist, muralist and one of the renovators of the contemporary tapestry, whose work can be found in various museums and institutions
After training in painting, drawing, sculpture and engraving, in the first years of his artistic activity (1940s) he made some painting and mosaic works in his native land that remain in the hermitage of Sant Measure or in the parish church. of Sant Genís. In the 1950s he joined the carpet and tapestry company, Casa Aymat de Miquel Samaranch, where he became artistic director and worked with artists such as Joan Miró, Josep Maria Subirachs or Antoni Tàpies. His first individual tapestry exhibition was held at the Sala Gaspar in Barcelona in 19644 and, from that moment on, he continued with multiple exhibitions in European capitals and in the United States. Casa Aymat, in the Museum of Contemporary Tapestry-Casa Aymat, maintains an important part of his work, as well as the Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona. In the rest of the world, his work is part of the permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum of New York, the Museum of Modern Art in Paris and the Museum of International Contemporary Art Rufino Tamayo de México D. F.
