Biography
Daniel Perreu was born in 1962 in France at the foot of the Pyrenees.
From his childhood he made “iron" objects.
A journeyman locksmith, he did his Tour de France for 7 years, passionate about metal, he learned the techniques and acquired solid skills.
His whole life is devoted to making metal works. He founded his SME, designed and produced high-tech projects. It was in his fifties that he returned to crafts to find meaning and it was at the end of his professional career that he decided to satisfy his passion for steel sculptures.
He took drawing and blacksmithing lessons and created his first works.
The material
Steel, a noble material, essential and omnipresent in our lives. Some find it cold, Daniel Perreu will tell you that this metal will tell you beautiful stories as long as you take the time to listen and hear it. Touch his works, observe them, feel them and you will receive in return all the energy he gave them.
The sculptures
Each work is a birth, this is how Daniel Perreu explains his creations. Each time a story begins. The work grows in his workshop, before beginning its new life in its adopted environment.
The intellectual approach
It is first of all a drawing, often very summary, inspired by an exacerbated sensitivity, the environment, the circumstances and the encounters.
Then, he prints a shape to give substance to the material and give it life. Imbuing his values to give them a soul is perhaps the strong point of his sculptures.
Finally, it is during the finishing stage that he will pamper them to make them beautiful and desirable, even sensual. Femininity, motherhood, love and humanity are omnipresent in the creation of her works.
Finally, they take flight and the holder of these sculptures will have the chance to appreciate them and feel this force.
