Camilla Ancilotto
Biography
Camilla Ancilotto was born in Rome. She received her MA in Fine Arts from the New York Academy of Art in 1999. Her early paintings and sculptures focused on multiple interactive figurations, made using rotating prisms.
The artist combines the old oil painting techniques of the great masters of the Renaissance with the innovation of the wood support and its metal structure.
In 2012 she was among the artists selected for the 55th international art exhibition at the Venice Biennale with Deposizione.
She has participated in both BIAS - Manifesta 12, Palermo, and the “Premio Van Gogh - International Art Exhibition", Monreale, where her work Katharsis received the award for “Most Innovative Artwork" . That same year, Ancilotto was invited to participate in the 45th edition of the Contemporary Art Prize “Premio Sulmona" 2018.
Her work Nigredo received the third prize.
