1926-1930 studies sculpture at the Ecole des Arts Décoratifs (Atelier Niclausse) and painting at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts (Atelier Lucien Simon).
1932-1935 laureate of the Prix de la Villa Abd el Tif, Alger.
1939-1942 mobilized in Morocco, demobilized in1940.
1943-1945 works for the official journal of the French Army. Commissioned by US Armed Forces as a painter of the Eagle's Nest in Berchtesgaden (100 paintings, drawings, documents).
1951 awarded the Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur.
1952 awarded the title of Painter of the Fleet.
1960 awarded the Officier de la Légion d'Honneur.
1982 victim of a serious accident in his studio, he stays immobilized for 5 months
1986 awarded the title of Commandeur des Arts et Lettres and of Commandeur de la Légion d'Honneur.
1993 awarded the title of Grand Officier de l'Ordre National du Mérite.
Deceased on December 4, 1999. Buried at the cemetary of Sainte-Catherine, Honfleur.
