With every single painting, he conveys the impression of looking into the soul of the portrayed subject, regardless of whether it is a person, animal or plant.
Klaus Meyer-Gasters, born 1925 in Ludwigshafen, was a famous German oil and watercolour artist, who became popular across Germany with unique pharmacy calendars during the 1960's. After the Second World War, he also worked self-employed as an illustrator for German newspapers and bigger companies in addition to being a court sketch artist at the Nürnberger Prozesse. Until today, his traditional family business, the Meyer-Gasters Bildverlag, which he has founded in 1961, has been distributing more than 90 million high-quality watercolour calendars with animal and plant impressions all over the world.
Klaus Meyer-Gasters died in November 2016. Among many distinctive watercolour paintings, he also left an amazing art collection of plant, animal, and landscape oil pictures behind. This great legacy is now supervised by his granddaughter Jana, who catalogues and exhibits his work in Wiesbaden/Germany.
