I do not make art for art's sake, nor art against art. I am for art, but for art that has nothing to do with art, because art has everything to do with life.
Laurence Verney is a French artist born in 1962. Her artistic universe is now naturally expressed through digital art. She likes to give reality to an illusion. Art is the illusion of an illusion (Plato). The material, the texture, the depth, the movement, the contrast generate an expressive force giving meaning to her images and appealing to our imagination. This mysterious quality of light fascinates her and stirs the depths of her soul. The shadow giving light its splendor and its full vibratory measure. “Even when she only had her eyes, the world around her had to always turn in harmony……"Optical art with Victor Vasarely, the abstract art of Pierre Soulages, the black and white photos of Edward Weston, the ephemeral images on the walls of big cities by Ernest Pignon-Ernest and JR are for her a long-standing source of inspiration that the spontaneity of street arts nourishes.
