Biography
Chehade is a French artist born in 1952.
Chehade's painting oscillates between figuration and abstraction, with effects of superimposed or intertwined materials. She is inspired by her travels (to the Middle East and Morocco) and these influences shows through in her choice of colors or subjects.
Through signs and symbols she creates prints, insertions, and brings out of the raw material faces, animals or monuments... Compromise between East and West or confusion between the Ancient and the Contemporary, her painting is an invitation on a most unexpected journey, strange and exciting... like a dream.
