Slava Brodinsky, born in 1955 in Birobidzhan, Soviet Union (now eastern Russia), displayed remarkable artistic talent from a young age. Sent to a fine-arts-focused high school, his journey took an artistic turn after serving in the Soviet Army. Upon returning home, he pursued further studies at the Fine Art Academy of Birobidzhan, graduating with distinction in 1979.
In the '80s, Brodinsky's art took center stage on large canvases, showcased in one-man and group exhibitions throughout the U.S.S.R. However, a significant shift occurred when he relocated to Israel in 1991 with his wife and son. Initially challenged by the unfamiliar light and colors of Israel, Brodinsky's artistic expression underwent a transformative evolution upon returning to his craft. His palette now embraced brighter, earthier tones, and his exploration of light and shadow expanded.
The landscapes of the Galilee region in northern Israel and European travels infused a fresh vibrancy into his work. Tuscany, Umbria, and the south of France became prominent in his art, revealing rolling hills and colorful seasons. Brodinsky's distinctive style emerged as he applied a mixture of sand, paint, and plaster on canvas, capturing the essence of his surroundings.
Since then, Brodinsky has exhibited his solo and group works across the globe, from America and Russia to Canada, France, England, the Netherlands, and Japan. His art, reflecting a unique fusion of landscapes and vivid palettes, has found homes in collections worldwide.
