Claude Francheteau
Biography
Claude Francheteau was born in Nantes in 1971.
"I was lying on my back, near the river, my eyes plunged into the deep blue of the sky. At the edge of my field of vision, I could see the roofs and chimneys of buildings, lost in the vast area and giving it a sense. What I saw could be a way to paint."
Claude Francheteau deliberately claims to be a "landscape painter".
It is an infinitely political attitude that claims painting as a place of work, which favors Doing. He advocates drawing, "the probity of drawing," the inescapable drawing, and prefers simply to show.
He painted it. And usually his audience does him good which, in the face of his work, says breathe, feel, rise. Take a little height.
