Biography

Louise Van Reeth's practice is part of an exploration of the expressive and emotional power of matter and color. As much in painting, as in the rest of her works, she attempts to reveal the visual richness of the color/matter alliance and its ability to come into harmony with our inner energies and vibrations.

His works celebrate the materiality of the work of art as an open door to an elsewhere of the order of sensation and a certain quest for freedom emancipated from the immediacy of life to reach deeper levels of emotional and spiritual consciousness. Through subtle references to the landscape, to the trace, to the weave, his paintings invite us to blend into them, to experience a form of serenity and self-forgetfulness specific to an immersive experience devoid of intellectualization. They offer an invitation to tranquility and rest of the soul in an increasingly disconnected world, bringing us back to the very essence of the positive experience that is simply living, here and now.

Her works emit a vibration and energy of their own, which each person can receive and appreciate according to their own personal narrative. Inspired by both American Color Field Painting and Italian Arte Povera, her inspiration also comes from the textures of the landscape, the graphics of a leaf, or the moiré patterns of a stone.

“It seems to me that nature and art share this unique power to confer on us a profound well-being, purified from the artifices of society." Louise Van Reeth's simple forms and vibrant colors transcend the simple representation of the external world to achieve a deeper and more universal meaning.
