Presentation

I'm a self-taught Turkish-American artist living in Washington.

I was born in Turkiye in 1969. I moved to the US as a Fulbright Scholar and completed my PhD in Computer Engineering in Arizona. I spent more than 22 years working in the wireless technology industry. While working full time and raising two kids, I found peace and joy in playing with colors.

My art is heavily impacted by my dysfunctional childhood, where struggles around my father's mental illness were part of daily life. My chronic depression has shaped who I am as an artist, mainly a modern figurative expressionist with a great love for watercolors.

I paint mostly simple portraits and try to capture universal thoughts and feelings in my art. During my art journey, I had the opportunity to participate in exhibits in Seattle, New York, and Istanbul, and met many other amazing artists. I paint with no end goal in mind; I paint simply because it makes me happy!
