André Palais
Biography
André Palais is a painter who lives and works in Paris. Passionate about creation, he joined the Académie Julian, Penninghen, in 1992. He left in 1998.
André Palais naturally moved towards the profession of graphic designer. Over the years, he specialized in record covers. With his work and expertise over more than fifteen years, he has acquired a certain notoriety in this field.
André Palais has always known how to combine different creative media: drawing, painting, video, photography, sometimes even sculpture. And it was quite natural that he began to think about the rest of his career and to define himself solely as a painter.
For three years, André has been working in his Atelier, rue d'Hauteville, in the 10th arrondissement of Paris. His first series, Modern Monks, were exhibited in June 2014 in the same workshop. For this series, André Palais painted serene and meditative characters who seem to suspend their judgment to distance themselves from the world or, conversely, to face it without blinking. André's painting combines great technical mastery with constant research of the right line. André's compositions are powerful and graphic. They tend towards purity and aim to achieve an essential.
