Presentation

Self-taught illustrator and graphic designer since 2012, Elips is originally from Caen. Born in 1984, he developed a passion for Comics at a very young age, notably with watercolor illustrations by Jean Giraud for the "Blueberry" series. We find in the artist's universe this same taste for desert expanses and rocky mountains.

However, his work (mainly in black and white) draws its resources from two other areas: Cinema and Music. Hip-hop enthusiast since the 90s, it was with the release of the album "The school of the silver microphone" by the group IAM that he had a real revelation.

Already fascinated by samurai and martial arts at the time, the influences and style of this group particularly appealed to him. Whether through metaphors or other figures of speech, their texts become over the years his first source of inspiration, creating in him a real need to express himself and to represent his own universe made up of flying islands.
