Elimo
Biography
Eliah Morel, of her artist name Elimo is a French artist of contemporary art and street art.
She paints the representation of life and the individual in the form of ellipses. Elimo is interested in the composition of society, spheres of influence, transmission, memory, identity and otherness.
In her works, the individual is delimited by points necessary for his survival but spaced apart, allowing exchanges.
The title of her works is always a six-digit number, which denounces the reduction of the individual, by society, to a simple identifier. This number is randomly assigned to evoke the unpredictable and fortuitous nature of our meetings.
She has exhibited at the Carrousel du Louvre, at the Ministry of Finance, at the Galerie Ravel (cultural space of the City of Paris), at the Museum of Immigration in Paris, in Toulouse at the Cité de l'Espace, in Lille, and abroad, notably at the Rochester Contemporary Art Center in Rochester, New York State, USA.
"The artist depicts the individual at all stages of his life, and describes the links he weaves in society, however no human form comes to populate these colored and textured works, only ellipses depicting both the originality of each person and all the means implemented to preserve it. "
