Biography
LGM-1; Little Green Men-1: “…code name given to the first signal identified from a pulsar whose extreme regularity evoked a possible signal of an extra-terrestrial nature…".
Architect in France and abroad, the illustration activity has always been an enthusiastic complementary activity which was more revealed during a year spent in Cambodia. Today resident in Reims, Julien Maillot alias LGM-1, offers to capture the atmosphere and emotions created in us by the buildings that make up the city and our daily lives and to freeze an interpretation.
The intention is to highlight, through illustration, buildings and places that make up our cities and our lives. The image will try to capture an emotion created in us, try to identify why we appreciate this architecture or this space. Why do you like this building? Why do you prefer this place over another? What does it create in you? Is it light? Is it the space, the beauty, the colors, the volumes or the life that it allows?
If the first works produced in Cambodia and Reims were drawn by hand using drawing techniques used a few years ago in an architectural agency (tee, square, ink pen, etc.), the current works are entirely digital and created via software used in architecture agencies today, in the service of illustration, combining an architectural education and the desire for drawing and creation.
