Valérie Donzelli is a French actress, screenwriter and director.
She became known to the general public thanks to her role in the film Martha… Martha by Sandrine Veysset, which opened the Directors' Fortnight at the Cannes film festival in 2001.
At the same time as her acting career, Valérie Donzelli began directing her own films. After several short films, in 2009 she wrote and directed her first feature film, La Reine des pommes.
In 2011, her second feature film La Guerre est Declarée was selected to open the Cannes Film Festival. The film has an immense critical success and confirms the artist's talents as a director.
Passionate about photography, Valérie Donzelli exhibited for the first time at the Galerie Cinéma Anne-Dominique Toussaint in 2015.
Through a series of color and black and white photographs, De Myrha à Babylone depicts the urban daily life of a woman, punctuated by her daily itinerary that takes her from rue Myrha to rue Babylone, a photographic journey which takes you from the animation of the 18th arrondissement to the luxurious calm of the 7th arrondissement of Paris...
