Presentation
Maisha Marshall-Ende was born in 1990, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She graduated in art from OCAD University in Toronto. Maisha's work uses photography, video and design, exploring black culture in a western context.
Maisha Marshall-Ende draws inspiration from her own life, between Ethiopia where she grew up, and Canada, where she itched as an adult. Noting the daily challenges and unique experiences of women of color, she uses her artwork as a tool to better understand racism and as a platform for growth and sharing.
She has exhibited at Gallery 44 (2019), Ontario College of Arts and Design (2018), Whippersnapper Gallery (2018), Band Gallery, Toronto (2017). In 2021, she is a resident at Versant Sud, France, in Marseille.
