Biography
Thibault Franc is a French artist born in Bordeaux in 1976.
After his studies in philosophy, Thibault Franc turned towards art: his works vary from realistic or expressive representation to transforming objects.
Thibault Franc writes, paints, sculpts, assembles in his workshop in Arles where he currently lives.
Thibault Franc takes possession of these objects and then puts them together and displays them for spectators. These images are primitive and faint like in pop art and are often filled with happiness and humor.
The artist takes a risk and hints humor: it's a spectacular blow when confronted with reality and its standards of representation.
Moreover, the works contradict the space they live in, as reality is twisted and slips through your fingers because everything isn't revealed, some of it is camouflaged.
Like an archaeologist, Thibault France collects memories of the present life and death, which recently turned into the past.
